Enforcement Division

The Enforcement Division works to create a fair marketplace, encourage responsible business conduct​, oversight for licensed professionals and businesses to follow state laws​, and respond to questions and complaints by consumers and others.

The enforcement functions are:

Complaints
Provides services to consumers and organizations who have inquiries or complaints about Commerce-regulated industries and licensees. File a complaint.

Enforcement Actions
Regulatory actions taken by Department of Commerce and a variety of other public regulatory documents.

Intergovernmental Misclassification Enforcement and Education Partnership
Five Minnesota government agencies are tasked with investigating misclassification fraud to share reported worker violations of the law and related data to better coordinate investigations. Employee misclassification is the practice by an employer of not properly classifying workers as employees.
