Health Bucks

Health Bucks are $2 coupons that can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at all NYC farmers markets.

There are more than 130 farmers markets across the five boroughs every summer and fall. For farmers market locations and days/hours of operation, visit the NYC Health Map. To find a farmers market near you, text “So Good” to 55676 (or “Muy Rico” for Spanish).

Many farmers markets host nutrition-related activities, such as food activities for kids, cooking demonstrations and adult nutrition workshops. If your group wants to schedule an NYC Health Department-run nutrition workshop, email nutritioneducation@health.nyc.gov.

How to Get Health Bucks

Recipients of SNAP Benefits

For every $2 spent at farmers markets using SNAP on an EBT card, you can get $2 in Health Bucks, up to $10 per day. Health Bucks are available year-round at NYC farmers markets that accept EBT.

Community- and Faith-Based Organizations

Organizations can apply to receive free Health Bucks to distribute to community members as an incentive to participate in nutrition education and other health-related activities.

Fill out the 2024 application for free Health Bucks. Note that these Health Bucks are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If your organization would like to purchase Health Bucks coupons, email farmersmarkets@health.nyc.gov for more information.
