Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke today with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant to provide an update on the provision of U.S. security assistance and to discuss the latest operational and humanitarian situation in Gaza. The Secretary reiterated the ironclad commitment of the United States to supporting the defense of U.S. partners and to preventing an escalation of the conflict launched by Hamas terrorists.
