USAID Water Security, Sanitation, and Hygiene Town Hall
In the nearly ten years since the Senator Paul Simon Water for the World Act became law, USAID’s water, sanitation, and hygiene investments have resulted in more than 60 million people gaining access to sustainable drinking water and sanitation services and hygiene facilities, and benefiting from improved water resources management.
On January 25, 2024, USAID kicked off the tenth anniversary year of Water for the World with a town hall event that highlighted progress and opportunities for achieving global water security and universal access to sanitation. USAID leadership facilitated the discussion, reflecting on what this means for the future of global health, gender equality and women’s empowerment, food security, and climate resilience.
