Job Responsibilities


This employee will serve as the Conservation Education Coordinator and will be tasked with developing a standardized conservation education and outreach programming focused on the promotion of a conservation stewardship ethic through coordination with SCDNR outreach/education staff. 

Job Duties Include:
  • Develop and initiate implementation of conservation education and outreach programming for K-12 schools.
  • Coordinate with SCDNR outreach/education staff, environmental educators and conservation partners to deliver education programming primarily through K-12 schools, presentations to youth audiences, educational booths at various outdoor expos/events.
  • Collaborate on coordination of Project WILD and similar programs. 
  • Serve as central point of contact for receiving and scheduling of education and outreach requests.
  • Coordinate and deliver educational activities geared towards youth and students during various outdoor events.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and three years of experience related to the development, standardization and delivery of conservation and/or environmental education and outreach programs.

Additional Comments

Ability to gather, organize and present oral and written information in a clear, concise and accurate manner. Ability to communicate conservation stewardship ethics in an error-free manner through public presentations. Ability to prepare materials and conduct education training for natural resource conservation programs. Statewide travel required. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Ability to work nights and weekends.
