As a Health Scientist Administrator, Pharmacy Outcomes Research, you will serve as a technical expert for the Center and Agency on clinical pharmacy practice, including the medication use continuum, medications, pharmacists, drug pricing and reimbursement, insurance coverage decisions, drug compounding, drug policy, drug safety, formulary management, therapeutic substitution, pharmacist education and training, and models of care

You must have a Bachelor's or graduate degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position being advertised. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to meeting the education requirement, to qualify for this GS-14 Health Scientist Administrator position, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-13 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis: Formulating and implementing research agendas in assessing, translating, and disseminating research evidence on patient-centered care interventions to improve outcomes; conducting, implementing, and disseminating research to optimize medication use; coordinating the development and implementation of all applicable information to support clinical pharmacy practices and outcomes.
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
CLINICAL PHARMACY PRACTICE - Knowledge of the practice & policies relating to clinical pharmacy practice, incl but not limited to the medication use continuum, medications, drug pricing and reimbursement, insurance coverage decisions, drug policy, drug safety, therapeutic substitution, pharmacist education and training, & models for delivery of care.
RESEARCH AND EVALUATION - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources to ensure consistency with objectives and ensuring quality, timely products, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
