Power of a Job:  The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) manages, develops supports and maintains the agency's computer systems, web technologies, network and data communications, and the data warehouse.  It also provides technical assistance for installation and operations of the Agency computers and software.
 
We are looking for a WorkSource System Supervisor to lead and supervise the WorkSource System Support team. This team is integral to the successful administration of job seeker and employer services, and reemployment within ESD. This unit is responsible for the IT configuration, administration, analysis, training and support of technology used to support stakeholders within the WorkSource line of business. In this role you will independently manage services provided to our customers, focusing on the organization's high priority initiatives related to the WorkSource system and maintaining support and availability of these systems to meet our divisions and customers business needs.

Duties

As a WorkSource System Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  •  Supervising and mentoring technical staff – ensuring staff are adequately trained and completing the work associated with custom developed applications, product support, change requests and implementation in a timely and effective manner. Improving the culture of ESD through LEAN methodology, innovation, teamwork and problem solving.
  • Managing WorkSource System Applications – respond to system issues and collaborate with ESD customers, stakeholders and vendors to enhance system components ensuring systems are available and function effectively and efficiently.
  • Enterprise System Administration – analyzing trends, identifying, diagnosing, configuring and resolving system issues to ensure continued service and availability of the agency's critical application.
  • Business/Technical Analysis, Testing and Documentation – ensuring technical requirements, migrated data, and configuration of the system align with the business requirements, allowing customers to efficiently complete their work, and projects to be successfully completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Technical and Customer Support – resolving application issues to preserve production system data integrity, informing users of issue that impact their ability to do their work, and provide assistance to users to ensure productive use of the system.
  • Technical Documentation – maintaining accurate and thorough documentation so that required system information is available for continuity of service.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or closely related field AND seven (7) years IT experience with production system administration, implementation and support, software administration and development using SQL and JavaScript.

OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience equating to 11 years.


Preference may be given to those who not only meet the minimum qualifications, but also have the following:

  • Demonstrated software administration and knowledge of WorkSourceWA and case management system.
  • Experience as a development supervisor and resource manager, or similar role.

Insurance Benefits

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
 
State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).  New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs.  For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems' web site.
 
Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP).  This is a supplemental retirement savings program (similar to an IRA) that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
 
Vacation (Annual Leave)
 
You begin accruing vacation starting your first month of employment. Since we value your loyalty, the amount of vacation you can accrue increases the longer you work with us. Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year. Vacation accrues for full-time employees per WAC 357-31-165.
