Rep. Hausman supports $100 million in federal CARES Act funding for housing

Tuesday, July 14, 2020

ST. PAULGovernor Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan today announced $100 million in housing assistance to help families and individuals impacted by COVID-19 authorized by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Rep. Alice Hausman, chair of the Housing Finance and Policy Division, released this statement:

“Many Minnesotans are already living with housing insecurity made worse because of COVID-19. Thousands of our neighbors have lost jobs because of the pandemic and are facing possible eviction and subsequent homelessness. During this most difficult and tenuous time, the housing assistance program will help provide some comfort and stability in an otherwise chaotic situation. I appreciate the actions of the Walz administration to help our fellow Minnesotans in their time of need.”
