CACFP Center Sponsor Monitoring Waiver
USDA has issued a Nationwide waiver for the following variances in CACFP monitoring requirements during the public health emergency, as needed for center sponsors of child care centers, adult care centers, Head Start organizations, emergency shelters, preschools, outside school hour child care, and At-Risk Meal Programs with more than one site or at least one unaffiliated site:
o  Reviews may be completed offsite
o  CACFP sponsors may conduct two reviews of their CACFP facilities
o  Only one CACFP facility review must be unannounced
o  One unannounced review does not need to include observation of a meal service
o  More than six months may elapse between reviews
o  At least one review must be made during each new facility’s first four weeks of Program operation, but it may be conducted offsite

This waiver does not apply to independent centers that are required to conduct one self-monitoring review each year.

Approval is not required, but you must complete the following survey to notify us how you intend to use the waiver.
