Distance Learning with OETA

Starting Monday, May 18, OETA will be adjusting its daytime schedule to provide curriculum-based programming for students over the air on its broadcast channel, OETA WORLD. Programs will include PBS favorites like NOVA, Nature, American Experience as well as PBS KIDS programming. Each episode or series directly correlates to lessons and resources made available through PBS LearningMedia which have been designed to meet federal and state standards for grades 6 through 12. Programming changes will take place Monday through Friday from 11 am until 4 pm which will last until the end of the school year.

About PBS LearningMedia

PBS LearningMedia is a free, digital curriculum service that builds on the strength of public media and is designed to improve teacher effectiveness and student achievement. Resources are aligned to national and state standards and include videos and interactives, as well as audio, documents, and in-depth lesson plans. You can browse by standards, grade level, and subject area. It is free for students, teachers, and parents, however personal accounts are required. Most activities and/or lessons are available in Spanish and several other languages.

PBS KIDS On Air - OETA’s 24/7 PBS KIDS channel is available over the air via digital antenna. Features programs like Daniel Tiger Neighborhood, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Molly of Denali. Videos are also available at PBSKIDS.org or through the PBS KIDS app.

PBS KIDS Newsletter - Sign up for PBS KIDS newsletter for daily activities and tips you can use to help kids play and learn at home.

PBS KIDS Apps - Apple and Android app stores offer a variety of apps from many of your child’s favorite programs.

PBS LearningMedia - Grade specific videos, interactive lessons, lesson plans and printables.

 

OETA Channel List

OETA operates an extensive statewide network of 4 full-powered transmitters and 14 translator booster stations. OETA-HD (x.1), OETA WORLD (x.2), OETA Create (x.3) and PBS KIDS (x.4) are available statewide via a digital antenna on the following channels: Oklahoma City (13), Tulsa (11), Altus (19), Alva (30), Ardmore (36), Beaver (34), Boise City (20), Buffalo (48), Cheyenne (12), Duncan (47), Durant (46), Eufaula (3), Grandfield (10), Guymon (16), Hugo (15), Idabel (23), Lawton (36) and Ponca City (38).
