Garland -
Daniel Thomas Jennings passed peacefully on September 14, 2020. He is blessed to once again, be with his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Nancy Barbara Kern Jennings, who passed March 17, 2020. He was the son of D. Thomas Jennings and Jane Elizabeth Winter Jennings, both of Parsons, Tennessee.
Dan and Nancy had two daughters, Cynthia A. Jennings and Diane L. Rowland. They were blessed with four grandchildren, Erin Bridges Padham, Hannah Elizabeth Jennings Priest, Eve Nancy Rowland, and Noah Frances Jennings Priest. Sadly, they missed the upcoming birth of their first great-grandson.
Daniel had a love for spiders from age five and spent his professional career as a research scientist for the U.S. Forest Service. Dan was born in Fulton, Kentucky, and at a young age his family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he eventually met the love of his life, and began his scientific career. Dan and Nancy loved the natural beauty of the Southwest, but felt a special connection to their home in the woods of rural Maine. They will be deeply missed, but the family feels blessed that Dan and Nancy are once again re-united.
A private ceremony for both is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Town Public Library, 46 Middle St., Old Town, ME 04468; or the Garland Baptist Church, P.O. Box 76, Garland, ME 04939. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
