The map above shows the year in which stations will be constructed (where known) and shows E Line stations that are being constructed in coordination with projects led by another agency. This map will be updated as more detailed construction schedule information becomes available and as station construction is completed.
Once construction begins, the E Line team will send email updates to subscribers once a week during the construction season. These updates will provide more information on when construction will start at individual station locations.

What to expect from construction
In addition to stations, E Line construction activities will also include installation of fiber optic communication infrastructure and construction of additional pedestrian, traffic signal, bikeway, and intersection improvements delivered in partnership with Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis.
- Work in the corridor will include station construction, utility work, pavement and intersection improvements, and traffic signal changes.
- Expect temporary lane restrictions and marked detours for traffic.
- Pedestrian access will remain for businesses and residences.
- Buses will experience detours during construction. Up-to-date information about bus detours and temporary stop locations can be found at metrotransit.org/alerts and by subscription to Rider Alerts.
- Construction will be staged at each station intersection to allow for vehicular traffic flow.
Coordinated projects
To minimize impacts on residents and businesses, Metro Transit is working with Hennepin County, MnDOT, and the City of Minneapolis to construct E Line stations in coordination with their projects. Station construction by year
E Line construction will take place over the 2024 and 2025 construction seasons. Several stations listed above will be built as part of other major construction projects. More construction details, including the construction year for stations that are not identified below, will be provided in spring 2024 once a construction contractor is selected.

- Upton & 43rd Street (construction to be coordinated with City of Minneapolis sewer and water utility improvements at this intersection)

What is the METRO E Line?
The METRO E Line is a planned bus rapid transit (BRT) line that will provide faster and more reliable transit service in the Route 6 corridor along University Avenue/4th Street, Hennepin Avenue, and France Avenue from the University of Minnesota to Southdale.

- Fall 2021: Corridor plan released for public comment
- June 2022: Metropolitan Council approval of final corridor plan
