Events

Cooking Demos are the 2nd Wednesday of the month, May-September. A Michigan Farmers Market Association Food Safety grant helped to fund our 2024 series.

In 2023, we partnered with EdibleWOW magazine to feature local female chefs preparing recipes highlighting seasonal ingredients available for purchase at our vendors' stalls. We hosted Chefs Allie Lyttle, Allison Anastasio, Nina Love, Ji Hye Kim, and Payton Richardson. Their recipes featured Michigan asparagus, peaches, zucchini, mushrooms, and melons. We received a Food Safety grant from the Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA) as part of the 2023 demos.

Food Truck Rallies happen the 3rd Wednesday of the month July-October. We host food trucks, food carts, and pop-ups from the area plus live music after Wednesday Market, 5-8 p.m. We had a wonderful turnout for our 2024 rallies. Check out CTN's Around Ann Arbor segment from our September 2023 rally. Visit our InstagramFacebook or Twitter for updates and info about which trucks & carts are joining us.

If your food truck, cart, or mobile food business wants to join, fill out the:  2024 Food Truck Rally Application. Contact Market Manager Stefanie with questions.

Food Trucks and Carts at Market: Individual trucks and carts often join us during Wednesday and Saturday markets throughout the season. Check our InstagramFacebook or Twitter for who's attending! Prospective vendors can find the application here:   2024 Mobile Food Vendor Application

Event rental: If you want to rent the market for an event outside of market hours, please contact the Parks & Recreation Customer Service Office at parkevents@a2gov.org or 734.794.6230 x 0.

CSA Farm Shares

A CSA, or '"community supported agriculture," is a subscription or farm membership to receive produce or farm products on a regular basis. The customer usually gets a weekly share of the farm's produce or other products. Several vendors offer CSA programs, so it's easy to find a program that's right for you:  CSA Info 2024

Market Operating Rules

All vendors and patrons of the market must abide by the  Public Market Operating Rules. We last updated our rules in 2023.

Public Market Advisory Commission

The Public Market Advisory Commission (PMAC) serves in an advisory capacity for the benefit of the market. PMAC is currently made up of two market vendors, two regular customers, and one neighborhood representative. Commission meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. All regular meetings and work sessions are open to the public and will take place virtually with the exception of up to four meetings that will take place in person on the dates chosen by PMAC members. The latest meeting agendas and minutes, as well as the video recordings of previous PMAC meetings, are all available online.

Market Infrastructure Improvement Project

Proposed improvements focus on strategies to winterize the market to expand vendor stall capacity all year. The project is intended to serve the community as the market evolves and continues to provide a critical outlet for local food. In 2017, a proposal for a new market building was put out for bid and came back over budget. Consequently, staff searched for more affordable alternatives. In early 2020, Market staff presented a proposal for roll down sides to provide shelter from the elements and overhead heating in a small portion of the market. Due to pandemic-related increases in materials costs and A2Zero energy-use constraints, it is unclear if the 2020 proposal is currently feasible. Market staff continues to explore alternative options to winterize the market.
