A completed federal return. You will need information from your federal return in order to complete your Maryland return. If you wish to electronically file your federal income tax return, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has entered into agreements with several private companies to provide free electronic filing of federal returns. Some of the companies are including State returns as well. Visit the IRS Free File web page to see if you qualify.
