Share the Harvest program

Freezer packages of ground venison. The Share the Harvest program distributes venison from deer taken during agency culling, which is conducted to aggressively fight chronic wasting disease and keep Minnesota's deer population healthy.

All culled deer that receive a not-detected CWD test result will distributed to food shelves in 2024. There will not be public sign-up list to receive venison.

Hunter-harvested deer are not accepted.

The DNR tests all agency culled deer for chronic wasting disease. Only deer with a not-detected test result are distributed. Deer are cut into standard meat cuts (chops, steaks, roasts) or bagged trimmings and then boxed.
