Thursday, March 4, 2021 8:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time - 10:30:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time
Today many older adults and people with disabilities do not have the financial means to pay for internet service in their home or purchase an internet enabled device - such as a PC, tablet, or smart phone. Further, many lack the skills needed to confidently navigate the internet and digital communities by themselves. Significantly reducing self-sufficiency and their confidence to live independently in the community.

Addressing these problems is pressing given the indefinite transition to using telemedicine and virtual services in place of in-person exchanges after COVID. Many HCBS beneficiaries are now vulnerable and isolated. Unable to obtain timely medical services, procure basic goods and services, address social determinants of health (food and nutrition, housing, employment, education, transportation), and stay connected while social distancing.

This webinar provides an overview of key concepts, barriers, and opportunities. The panelist presentations focus on: funding, delivery of services and supports, and knowledge and skills needed.
