RGV Agents Discover a 53 Migrants at a Stash House In McAllen

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents interdicted six migrant smuggling attempts over the weekend that resulted in 78 arrests. 

On Nov. 12, a Kingsville Border Patrol Station agent attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on a Chevrolet Suburban near Armstrong. The vehicle failed to yield and led the agent on a vehicle pursuit. The Suburban veered off the road through a property gate and came to a stop, where multiple people were observed fleeing. A search of the immediate area resulted in the apprehension of two migrants from Honduras and Mexico. The driver was not located. 

That evening, RGV agents along with deputies from Starr County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) apprehended 11 migrants from Central America and Mexico at a migrant stash house in Roma. 

On Nov. 13, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents responded to a call for assistance from McAllen Police Department (MPD) officers at a suspected migrant stash house on north Ware Road in McAllen. Officers advised they initially responded to a suspicious vehicle dropping off numerous subjects at the location. Agents arrested 53 migrants from Central America and Mexico at the address. No caretaker was identified. Two migrant females at the location required transportation to the hospital for evaluation. They were tended to by medical professionals and were transported to a Border Patrol facility for processing.

Later that night, an RGV agent attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on a black Cadillac XT5 near Linn. The vehicle stopped and multiple people fled into the brush. The vehicle then sped off leading the agent on a vehicle pursuit.  A search of the immediate area by responding agents resulted in one apprehension. Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) troopers assisted in the vehicle pursuit, which ended shortly after. The driver was taken into Border Patrol custody. 

On Nov. 14, an RGV agent attempted to conduct another vehicle stop on a black Ford F150 also near San Manuel. The vehicle failed to yield and led the agent on a pursuit and eventually came to a stop, where multiple people fled into the brush. A CBP Air and Marine Operation helicopter arrived to assist. A search of the immediate area resulted in the apprehension of six migrants from Honduras and Guatemala. The driver was not located. 

On Nov. 15, RGV agents were led on a vehicle pursuit with a black Nissan Versa near San Manuel. TXDPS and MPD assisted in the apprehension of four migrants when the vehicle came to a stop near 23rd Street in McAllen. The driver was not located. 

All subjects were processed accordingly.
