Description
A Community Engagement Board is an integral part of the truancy process in Washington State. The purpose of the board is to provide a supportive space where the student and their family can openly discuss the barriers keeping the student from completing their educational goals. During the CEB the members can assist the student and family in identifying resources and support that can improve the student’s re-engagement in school and create a connection within their community.
The CEB is composed of members from the school, local juvenile court, and local community partners. These members will assist the student and family in creating a plan that will support the student’s educational goals and prevent further court intervention.
The Community Engagement Board training will show you how you can put together a board that fits your needs and the needs of the students that you serve.
