Northbound work scheduled Oct. 10 through early November

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 7, 2022) – Waterline work to prepare for future construction is expected to close lanes on northbound State Road 37/Harding Street and I-465 interchange exit ramps beginning Monday, Oct. 10.

The right lanes of northbound Harding Street between the I-465 westbound ramps and the Pilot Travel Center intersection will be closed around the clock through early November.

Additional lane closures will occur each day between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. They will affect northbound S.R. 37/Harding Street and the I-465 exit ramps. All movements will remain open. Northbound traffic should slow down, stay alert for orange barrels and plan for delays north of Thompson Road. One of the center lanes may be closed entering the work zone.

The lane closures are needed to allow crews to safely work on underground waterlines along Harding Street.

A short section of a nearby access road, Harding Court, will also be reduced to one lane around the clock through early November. Traffic flow in this area will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.

Bluff Road closure

Reconstruction of Bluff Road and Bluffdale Road, just east of S.R. 37 in Johnson County, is expected to close the intersection on Monday, Oct. 10 for less than a month. Drivers can access either end of the closure from Fairview Road to the north or Wakefield Road to the south.

Crews will remove a section of Bluffdale Road, now that its intersection with S.R. 37 is permanently closed, and reconfigure Bluff Road as a through movement.

About I-69 Finish Line
I-69 Finish Line is the sixth and final section of the Interstate 69 connection between Evansville and Indianapolis. The project will upgrade the existing S.R. 37 to interstate standards between Martinsville and Indianapolis.

Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Connections program fully funded the project and accelerated construction by three years. I-69 Finish Line is expected to open to traffic in late 2024, improving safety and reducing travel time.
