Monitoring Severe Weather and Flooding Concerns for the Southeast and Hawaii; Above Normal Temperatures for the West

Lines of showers and thunderstorms continue for the Southeast through today. Some of these storms will be severe with hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. For the mid-Atlantic region and Northeast, unsettled and cooler weather pattern through the weekend. While it will be warm this weekend, which will make area rivers inviting, please remember water temps are still very cold! Cold water shock and hypothermia could kill you, so you may want to think twice before jumping into a river to cool off.
A high pressure system will begin to move over the region Tuesday, bringing dry and warming conditions Thursday into this weekend. You can monitor the latest forecast at weather.gov/portland.
