History of the Telephone

Students will learn about Alexander Graham Bell and his invention of the telephone, understanding its impact on the U.S. population and the ways that phones have changed over time.

Census History - During the 1900 Census, the Census Bureau hired him as a special agent to write a report on the deaf and blind. You can learn more about Bell's work as a special agent for the 1900 Census here.
