Request for Information (RFI) related to Facilitating a Domestic Critical Minerals Future: Carbon Ore, Rare Earths and Critical Minerals (CORE-CM) Initiative This is solely a request for information and is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement. The Department of Energy is not accepting applications to this RFI. This RFI will seek input from industry members, investors, developers, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, tribal governments, potentially impacted communities and other stakeholders to advance the use of unconventional and secondary feedstocks to produce rare earth elements (REEs), critical materials (CMs) and novel high-value, nonfuel carbon-based products (CBP), which are needed to ensure U.S. energy, economic and national security. This RFI supports the Carbon Ore, Rare Earth, and Critical Minerals (CORE-CM) Initiative.
