Notice of Public Hearing, Waste Management Disposal Services of Maine - Crossroads Landfill Expansion

The Department will hold a public hearing, October 1, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on an application submitted by Waste Management Disposal Services of Maine for a proposed solid waste landfill expansion (Phase 14 expansion) at the Crossroads Landfill located in Norridgewock, Maine.
Due to restrictions designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease, this meeting will be held virtually using Zoom. Participants may also join the meeting via phone. However, persons wishing to testify must do so using video capability (through Zoom) so that the Presiding Officer can see them as she swears them in. To accommodate persons who want to testify and do not have Zoom video capability, the Town of Norridgewock has offered to set up a room in the Town Office where members of the public may testify using the required video conferencing platform. Members of the public who wish to testify from the Norridgewock Town office must make an appointment with the Town Manager, Richard LaBelle in advance by phone at 207-634-2252 or by e-mail at townmanager@townofnorridgewock.com
Zoom meeting details and phone call-in information will be available on the website at a later date, prior to the meeting.
Pre-register to testify
In order to budget appropriate time to accommodate all public testimony, we request that anyone who wishes to testify at the public hearing to please pre-register by sending your name to Ruth Ann Burke ruth.a.burke@maine.gov or by calling 207-287-2811. Please pre-register no later than September 30, 2020, 1:00 p.m.
The daytime portion of the hearing will be devoted to receiving testimony from the parties (applicant and intervenors). The evening portion of the hearing, beginning at 6:00 p.m., will be devoted to receiving testimony from members of the general public.
