TDI clarifies bulletin on use of third-party data

The Texas Department of Insurance has revised a bulletin on the use of third-party data. The revision clarifies that the bulletin does not create a new legal duty, obligation, or standard of care. The new bulletin reminds regulated entities, their agents, and their representatives that they are responsible for the accuracy of data used in rating, underwriting, and claims handling – even if the data is provided by a third party.
