You can use our online services to:

Watch our ‘How to’ videos for online filing guidance.

Benefits of online filing

By filing online, you’ll:

  • save your company time and money
  • get confirmation that we’ve received your submission
  • avoid rejects and be less likely to get late filing penalties
  • get access to additional online services

Save your company time and money

It costs less to file most information online compared with paper. For example, it costs £13 to file a confirmation statement online, but £40 to file a paper form.

We aim to process most online filings within 24 hours. Paper documents sent by post might take a week or more to process - so it’ll be a while before you find out if they’ve been accepted or rejected.

Avoid rejects and late filing penalties

Our online filing service has built-in checks to help you avoid errors and rejection. When we receive your online filing, we’ll send you an acknowledgement almost immediately.

We’ll also send a confirmation once we’ve accepted your filing. If your filing is rejected, you can quickly correct it and resend to us.

Use other online services

Online users also get access to additional services, including:

How to file online

You’ll need to ‘Create an account’ for the Companies House WebFiling service. We’ll send you an authentication code when you register - you’ll need this code to file your company’s information online.

You can also file some company information using our Find and update company information service. You’ll need to register for this service separately.

Software filing

You can also use third party software software to file most of your Companies House information online.
