The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate employs a privacy by design approach in its research, development, test and evaluation lifecycle. The S&T privacy lifecycle approach enhances oversight and transparency into department activities and demonstrates accountability to the public. The DHS Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program partners with S&T’s privacy office to build privacy considerations and protections into S&T business processes and mission outcomes.
As the DHS SBIR program prepares for the upcoming 21.1 solicitation, we want to help Small Business Concerns (SBCs) understand DHS privacy policies in order to mitigate privacy impacts when developing proposals in response to topics in the SBIR solicitation.
