Deconstructing SBIR: Planning for Privacy Webinar

Deconstructing SBIR Planning for Privacy Understanding the Privacy Lifecycle from Proof of Concept to Commercialization Compliance Counts How to consider privacy compliance when Web Series Thursday October 29 1-1:30 PM ET Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate employs a privacy by design approach in its research, development, test and evaluation lifecycle. The S&T privacy lifecycle approach enhances oversight and transparency into department activities and demonstrates accountability to the public. The DHS Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program partners with S&T’s privacy office to build privacy considerations and protections into S&T business processes and mission outcomes.

As the DHS SBIR program prepares for the upcoming 21.1 solicitation, we want to help Small Business Concerns (SBCs) understand DHS privacy policies in order to mitigate privacy impacts when developing proposals in response to topics in the SBIR solicitation. During this webinar, viewers will learn how the DHS SBIR Program Office works with DHS S&T’s Privacy Office to meet statutory requirements. Join us on October 29, at 1 p.m. EST (10 a.m. PST), and learn how to prepare an SBIR proposal with privacy compliance in mind.
