Proud to support the growth of public-private partnership (PPP) investments in the healthcare sector in our regions. We’ve provided a €50 million long-term convertible loan to Rönesans Sağlık Yatırım, a subsidiary of RÖNESANS HOLDİNG, to finance the construction of the Kokshetau Hospital in Kazakhstan. This follows our earlier 2022 loan of €75 million, which helped Rönesans complete the Gaziantep Hospital PPP in Türkiye, and make 9,000 beds available for those needing medical care. Our new investment will help Rönesans expand further, bringing its PPP expertise gained in the healthcare sector in Türkiye to our other countries of operation. In Kyrgyz Republic we're modernising municipal services, reducing water loss and strengthening resilience across ten municipalities. Uzgen is one of the great examples of our systemic impact in action where for years, many residents lacked uninterrupted access to clean drinking water and sanitation. Together with the EU and Japan, we financed a new water system, with a significant part of 41 km of water pipes and 30 km of sewerage pipes already laid. This is part of a larger effort – to date, we've supported 29 water projects in 26 cities across all seven regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, with €179 million in investments, including significant grant co-financing from the European Union and SECO Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung. With new EBRD projects in the pipeline and a €100 million framework for regional water resource management, the future of water security in the region is now more promising! Have a look at the video to see the impact on the ground. #EBRDGreen

Over 1.7 million people in 21 municipalities across Tajikistan now have better access to clean and safe drinking water, following the completion of 8 major infrastructure projects between 2004 and 2022. In 18 years we invested over $100 million with over $50 million from the European Union, SECO Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung and Global Environment Facility. Together, we helped replace over 700,000m of water pipes, build or rehabilitate 44 water intakes, install 25,000 water meters and procure dozens of specialised vehicles and equipment. This was a major success in public procurement and infrastructure implementation in Tajikistan achieved through robust cooperation with the authorities. Together we've shown that with the right components in place, sustainable water projects can be very successful in Tajikistan, improving public health, climate resilience and living standards across the country. #EBRDGreen

Private sector leadership can transform municipal services! We proved it in Kazakhstan when tackling Central Asia’s water stress problem. Private utilities company Vodnye Resoursy Marketing (VRM) took over Shymkent’s water in 1998, inheriting outdated infrastructure and unsustainable consumption with 42% water losses. Since 2009, we've financed €60 million across 5 projects to support VRM, helping rebuild 1,126 km of water pipes and 112 km of sewer networks, cut water losses to 17% and reduce emergency repairs by 68%. Today, every home in Shymkent has a water meter and per capita use has fallen over three times, from 456 to 150 litres/day. Savings achieved can even supply the city for 20 years! We're also proud to have helped VRM build Kazakhstan’s first state-of-the-art biogas plant that now generates 70% of its energy. This is real impact. A scalable model for private sector-led utilities in the region! #EBRDGreen
