Oconee Ranger District
Approximately 60 miles southeast of Atlanta, the Oconee National Forest is an easy drive and has much to offer those in the heart of the state. Boasting group campsites and recreational opportunities galore, the Oconee District is one not to miss.
The swimming area at Lake Sinclair is a great summer time get away.

Passes: | The Interagency Senior and Access Passes and the Golden Age and Access Passports are accepted. These passes entitle the pass holder to a 50% discount on certain standard amentity fees. The Chattahoochee-Oconee Annual Forest pass is accepted here. This pass can be purchased at any Forest Service office for $25.00. Click here to purchase a pass. |

Dispersed Camping
Dispersed camping opportunities exist throughout the Oconee Ranger District. There are 38 undeveloped camp sites available for those campers who wish a more primitive camping experience. These sites are popular with hunters during deer hunting season and are commonly referred to as "Hunt Camps", but are not restricted to this use.
