Request for applicants to join Waiver Reimagine Advisory Committee

Through Oct. 31, 2021, DHS is accepting applications from people to join the new Waiver Reimagine Advisory Committee (WRAC). The committee will provide input about the implementation of Waiver Reimagine during virtual meetings held every other month.

How to apply

Submit your application by Oct. 31, 2021, using these steps:

  • 1. Visit the WRAC application page on the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
  • 2. Click apply for one category that pertains to you. (If you fall under multiple categories, you will have the opportunity to report that later.)
  • 3. Fill out and submit the online application.
  • 4. Monitor your email after completing your application for a message from DHS that includes a link to the online supplemental statement of interest.
  • 5. Follow the link to complete and turn in the supplemental statement.
  • Lead agency staff members should contact their supervisor for information about applying for the committee in coordination with the Minnesota Association of Counties Social Service Administrators (MACSSA).

    Who should apply

    DHS will select applicants with diverse backgrounds from each category:

  • · People who use waiver services
  • · Family members of people who use waiver services
  • · Disability and behavioral health advocates
  • · Lead agency staff
  • · Waiver service providers.
  • Additional information

    The committee will provide feedback on proposals regarding Waiver Reimagine and help to develop the program, including these tasks:

  • · Create budget policy and procedures
  • · Consolidate the current home and community-based waiver service programs, Brain Injury (BI), Community Alternative Care (CAC), Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI), Developmental Disabilities (DD), into two programs — Residential Support and Individual Support waivers
  • · Adjust the simplified service menu as needed.
  • Members will serve two- or three-year terms. They can apply for an additional term at the end of the current one. For more information about the committee, visit the WRAC webpage.
