“Today’s figures show the Welsh economy continues to rebound from the harrowing impacts of coronavirus with the unemployment rate in Wales remaining below that of the UK, and our employment rate also increasing.

"This Welsh Government is committed to driving a strong economic recovery and building a greener, fairer and more prosperous Wales. We are focussed on providing work and training opportunities for  people across Wales and driving the industries of the future through initiatives like our recently announced £1.8 million fund to encourage businesses to produce low carbon vehicle technologies, and our support for US tech company SIMBA Chain which has resulted in new and highly skilled jobs being created in Blaenau Gwent.

“The Coronavirus pandemic is not yet over, and the ending of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and the UK’s departure from the EU will continue to cause issues for businesses and individuals across Wales. I want them to know that we continue to pull every lever possible to back firms and jobs during what is still an incredibly challenging time.
