SBOE in the City: Fall Engagement Sessions
The State Board is pleased to announce a series of public engagement sessions to provide the public opportunities to share their thoughts on the State Board’s work. The first session will be held on Monday, November 15 at the Deanwood Recreation Center from 6–8:30 pm and the second will be held on Saturday, December 4 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. Each session will provide the public with multiple opportunities to deeply engage with issues under consideration by the State Board: (1) social studies standards, (2) school accountability (STAR Framework and Rating), and (3) education governance.

During each engagement session, participants will be able to attend 2 of the 3 live breakout sessions. If you are unable to make either date or would like to provide feedback on the third breakout session, the State Board will offer an asynchronous virtual option that participants can watch at their convenience and answer polls along the way. Logistical information for participating virtually will be shared in the coming week.

Note: There will be food and drink provided. A face mask will be required except when eating.

La Junta Estatal se complace en anunciar una serie de sesiones de participación pública para brindar oportunidades al público para compartir sus ideas sobre el trabajo de la Junta Estatal. La primera sesión se llevará a cabo el lunes 15 de noviembre en el Deanwood Recreation Center de 6 a 8:30 p. m., y la segunda sesión se llevará a cabo el sábado 4 de diciembre en la biblioteca Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library de 10:30 a. m. a 1:00 p. m. Cada sesión proporcionará al público múltiples oportunidades para participar profundamente con los problemas que la Junta Estatal está considerando: (1) estándares de estudios sociales, (2) rendición de cuentas escolar (Marco y calificación STAR) y (3) gobernanza de la educación.

Durante cada sesión de participación, los participantes podrán asistir a 2 de las 3 sesiones de trabajo en grupo en vivo. Si no puede asistir a cualquiera de las fechas o desea proporcionar comentarios sobre la tercera sesión de trabajo en grupo, la Junta Estatal ofrecerá una opción virtual asíncrona que los participantes pueden ver cuando les resulte conveniente y puedan responder encuestas a lo largo del camino. La información logística para participar virtualmente se compartirá en la próxima semana.

Nota: Se servirán alimentos y bebidas. Se requerirá el uso de una mascarilla facial, excepto al comer.
