Aware and Prepare LISTOS is an 8-hour training program that was originally created to engage the Hispanic community in emergency and disaster preparedness.  Unlike CERT, LISTOS training is conversational based and is focused on families and individuals.

LISTOS was created in Santa Barbara County, California, in 2009 as part of the Aware and Prepare program.  Since then, LISTOS has received two grants from the California Office of Emergency Services and a grant from the California Governor’s office to expand LISTOS throughout the state.
