Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA)

AMSEA's mission is to reduce injury and death in the marine and freshwater environment through education and training provided by the only nation-wide network of qualified marine safety instructors.

With that core purpose, AMSEA has been offering marine safety training to thousands of commercial fishermen and other mariners since 1985. With a network of instructors based in port communities on Alaska and other U.S.  coasts, we provide affordable, effective, hands-on marine safety training close to home.

AMSEA's Drill Conductor, Stability, and Marine Safety Instructor courses are USCG accepted and meet requirements for commercial fishermen onboard commercial fishing vessels. Courses are offered year round in ports across the country. See our course calendar for a course near you.

AMSEA also offers first aid & marine safety training for other commercial and non-commercial mariners, specialized groups or agencies, and youth. Marine Safety Instructor Training is also an option for those interested in teaching. We are always recruiting new instructors around the country.

Since 1985, AMSEA has trained over 200,000 people, including more than 1,600 AMSEA InstructorsExplore our site and find out which AMSEA training is right for you. Questions? Feel free to contact us for more information.
