Kīlauea Visitor Center (KVC) to Close for Extensive Renovations
KVC will close for extensive renovations at 5 p.m., on Mon., Feb. 17, 2025. Park rangers will be at Uēkahuna (2.8 miles west of KVC) to assist visitors from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. A temporary welcome center will open later next week at Kilauea Military Camp.
Puʻupuaʻi Parking Lot and Overlook Closed for Nēnē Protection
Pu'upua'i parking lot and overlook at the junction of Devastation Trail are closed to all use for nēnē (Hawaiian goose) protection. Most of Devastation Trail is open.
