COMMUNITY MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT
The city of Tucson and Tucson Electric Power are in the process of negotiating terms for a new franchise agreement. The agreement will allow TEP to continue using public rights of way for installation of their infrastructure.
The current franchise agreement expires in 2026. TEP must secure approval from the voters to have it extended. In the interest of getting public input into what sorts of issues are important to see in the new agreement, TEP and city leadership are hosting a public meeting to share information about the status of the current negotiations, and to hear input from the public. The meeting will be held beginning at 6pm, Wednesday, January 18th at the TEP headquarters - 88 E. Broadway.
