West End Revitalization Strategies Plan
The City of Staunton is developing the first holistic plan for its West End neighborhoods. This project page is an online resource for learning more about the process, providing feedback, and tracking progress. In May 2024, the City hosted an Open House event at Gypsy Hill Park, where participants reviewed, prioritized, and commented on proposed recommendations for the West End neighborhood. If you miss the Open House, scroll to the bottom of this page to review a brief video, and click the survey link.
In the fall of 2020, members of Staunton City Council attended a West End Community meeting. Nearly a year later, the City Council held a retreat and developed the Staunton Plan, which identified the West End as a strategic focus area and committed to providing resources "to promote this community as a vibrant area that has diverse business opportunities, cultural offerings, and great potential for economic growth and stability." The West End Revitalization Strategies Plan will establish a vision and recommendations for achieving this aim.

West End Primary Study Area
Locally, City officials and residents commonly refer to Staunton’s "West End," but there were no official boundaries. As part of the planning process, consultants and city staff defined a primary West End study area, depicted on the available map. West Beverley Street, beginning at Jefferson Street and westward to the City Limits, is the main corridor for this area.
