2024 CLIMB-Health Convening

Sustaining Mental and Behavioral Healthcare Careers

The 2024 CLIMB-Health Convening was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at The Campbell House in Lexington, Kentucky.  This event brought together over 150 attendees to learn about and celebrate the work that CLIMB-Health has accomplished since its launch in 2023.

About the Event

Launched in the fall of 2023, the CLIMB-Health initiative has focused on creating postsecondary pathways at KCTCS for individuals in recovery/reentry seeking entry-level employment as peer specialists. The 2024 event will featured work by KCTCS CLIMB Health colleges across the Commonwealth. Attendees learned about KCTCS’ new postsecondary education initiatives supporting the state’s recovery and reentry populations; dove into the work of Kentucky's Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and explore how it has re-energized some of Kentucky's untapped workforce; discovered how AI ChatGPT will augment CLIMB's Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS) certification training for prospective certified APSS students using computer-based training (CBT) course design and delivery into the workplace; and enjoyed networking opportunities with industry partners, campus leadership, and legislative leaders.
