The Medicare Advantage Learning Collaborative (MALC), hosted by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and the Aging and Disability Business Institute at the National Association for Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) is focused on providing community-based organizations with the knowledge and skills to pursue partnerships and contracts with Medicare Advantage plans for home and community-based services and supports. Up to 12 participants will be selected to participate.

  • Application deadline: December 13, 2019 @ 5 p.m. ET
  • Selected participants notified: January 31, 2020
  • Monthly webinars: Fourth Tuesday of the month @ 1-3 p.m. ET from February through July 2020
  • In-person meeting: April 2020 in the Washington DC area. (Travel costs for up to two members per learning collaborative participant will be covered.)
Learning collaborative eligibility:
  • Applicants have carefully read the Medicare Advantage Learning Collaborative (MALC) Charter, describing the purpose, expectations, and benefits of participating in the learning collaborative.
  • Applicants agree to participate in the entire 6-month learning collaborative curriculum and dedicate 4-5 hours per month to prepare for monthly MALC lectures and homework assignments.
  • Applicant organizations or networks are interested in contracting with Medicare Advantage plans for home and community-based services and supports.
  • Applicants are nonprofit, university, or governmental organizations (state, county, or municipal level) focused on aging and/or disability services and supports.
  • Applicants are not participating in another business acumen learning collaborative with an overlapping timeframe.
  • Applicants did not participate as a lead organization in the 2019 Medicare Advantage Learning Collaborative.
  • Applicants must submit a letter of support from their organization’s leadership and key partners, if identified.
Submission guidelines
  • Proofread all submissions and carefully avoid errors.
  • Answer all questions according to the specified word limit.
  • Define all acronyms in parentheses after the first use of the word or phrase.
