  • While the emergency order is in effect, registered contractors are not subject to geographic scope limitations or requirements when providing services in listed counties, subject to additional requirements outlined in the emergency order.

01.12.2024 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2024-01 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders for Hurricane Ian, including:

  1.  EO 2022-03, which waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.
  2.  EO 2022-04, which waives the total relocation fee for barbers and cosmetology licensees in the listed counties.
  3.  EO 2022-07, which removes geographic limitations of electrical and alarm contractors in specified counties.
  4.  EO 2023-04, which allows eligible licensees regulated by the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco to request a temporary extension of existing licensed premises in Lee County and waives the associated $100 application fee.

12.27.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-11 renews DBPR EO 2023-07 for Hurricane Idalia, which suspends certain provisions of section 489.113(3), Florida Statutes, in order to allow certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties through February 17, 2024.

11.08.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-10 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders for Hurricane Ian, including:

  1.  EO 2022-03, which waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.
  2.  EO 2022-04, which waives the total relocation fee for barbers and cosmetology licensees in the listed counties.

10.27.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-09 renews DBPR EO 2023-07 for Hurricane Idalia, which suspends certain provisions of section 489.113(3), Florida Statutes, in order to allow certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties through December 23, 2023.

09.11.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-08 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders for Hurricane Ian, including:

  • EO 2022-03, which waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.
  • EO 2022-04, which waives the total relocation fee for barbers and cosmetology licensees in the listed counties.
  • EO 2022-07, which removes geographic limitations of electrical and alarm contractors in specified counties.
  • EO 2023-04, which allows eligible licensees regulated by the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco to request a temporary extension of existing licensed premises in Lee County and waives the associated $100 application fee.

08.31.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-07 suspends certain provisions of section 489.113(3), Florida Statutes, in order to allow certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.

  • While the emergency order is in effect, registered contractors are not subject to geographic scope limitations or requirements in section 489.513(5), Florida Statutes, when providing services in listed counties, subject to additional requirements outlined in the emergency order.
  • The emergency order states that the installation of non-permanent, emergency tarps to relieve damage caused by Hurricane Idalia fall within the exemptions listed in section 489.103(6).
  • The emergency order states that registered contractors working in compliance with the order are not committing an act of unlicensed contracting, as described in section 489.532, Florida Statutes, or practicing beyond the scope of a certification or registration, as specified under section 489.533(1)(s), Florida Statutes.
  • The emergency order requires registered contractors to provide their state registration, proof of compliance with applicable workers’ compensation, and liability and property damage insurance to the jurisdiction in which the work is being performed.

08.29.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-06 extends the renewal deadline for the following licenses:

  • CILB Registered Contractors: the deadline of August 31 is extended to October 2, 2023
  • Community Association Management Firms: the deadline of September 30 is extended to October 25, 2023
  • Drugs, Devices and Cosmetics: the deadlines of August 31 and September 30 are both extended to October 25, 2023
  • Real Estate: the deadline of September 30 for sales associates, broker sales associates, brokers, instructors and schools is extended to October 25, 2023

Licenses renewed on or before their new deadlines shall be considered as timely renewals and will not be assessed any late fees.

DBPR Emergency Order 2023-06 also:

  • Extends the deadline for the filing of monthly reports and returns by certain alcoholic beverage and tobacco license holders to October 25, 2023.
  • Suspends and tolls through October 25, 2023, all final orders reflecting agency action and all time requirements and deadlines for filing responses outlined in agency orders through September 28, 2023.
  • Suspends and tolls the annual $4 mobile home fee and $1 surcharge for mobile home park owners.
  • Waives the $200 fee for the issuance of temporary licenses for out-of-state veterinarians through October 25, 2023.

07.14.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-05 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders, including:

  • EO 2022-03, which waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.
  • EO 2022-04, which waives the total relocation fee for barbers and cosmetology licensees in the listed counties.
  • EO 2022-07, which removes geographic limitations of electrical and alarm contractors in specified counties.
  • EO 2023-04, which allows eligible licensees regulated by the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco to request a temporary extension of existing licensed premises in Lee County and waives the associated $100 application fee.

05.15.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-03 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders, including:

  • EO 2022-03, which waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.
  • EO 2022-04, which waives the total relocation fee for barbers and cosmetology licensees in the listed counties.
  • EO 2022-07, which removes geographic limitations of electrical and alarm contractors in specified counties.

03.20.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-02 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders, including:

01.20.2023 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2023-01 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders, including:

  • EO 2022-03, which waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.
  • EO 2022-04, which waives the total relocation fee for barbers and cosmetology licensees in the listed counties.
  • EO 2022-06, which increases the time period validity for permits issued to install, relocate, or alter an elevator in all Florida counties; and
  • EO 2022-07, which removes geographic limitations of electrical and alarm contractors in specified counties.

11.22.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-08 renews various provisions of DBPR’s previous emergency orders and extends the existing license renewal deadline for District 07 public food service and public lodging establishment licenses in listed counties from December 1, 2022 to January 20, 2023.

  • District 07 licenses renewed on or before January 20, 2023, shall be considered as timely renewals and will not be assessed any fees.

11.09.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-07 suspends provisions in section 489.513(5), Florida Statutes, to the extent that registered contractors are not subject to the geographical scope limitations or requirements when providing contracting services for the counties listed in the emergency order.

  • While the emergency order is in effect, registered contractors are not subject to geographic scope limitations or requirements in section 489.513(5), Florida Statutes, when providing services in the specified counties, subject to additional requirements outlined in the emergency order.
  • The emergency order requires registered contractors to provide their state registration, proof of compliance with applicable workers’ compensation, and liability and property damage insurance to the jurisdiction in which the work is being performed.
  • The emergency order clarifies that registered contractors working in compliance with the order are not committing an act of unlicensed contracting, as described in section 489.532, Florida Statutes, or practicing beyond the scope of a certification or registration, as specified under section 489.533(1)(s), Florida Statutes.

10.25.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-06 waives permit fees associated with replacing, relocating and repairing elevators regulated by DBPR in listed counties through November 22, 2022 and extends expiration of work permits.

10.25.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-05 extends DBPR Emergency Order 2022-01’s renewal deadline from October 31, 2022, to November 22, 2022, for the following licenses:

  • Real Estate: Sales Associates, Broker Sales Associates, Brokers, Corporate Brokers, Partnerships, and Corporations and Branch Offices;
  • Alcoholic Beverages: Retail Vendors, Distributors, Manufacturers, Importers, Brokers, Sales Agents, and Passenger Common Carriers;
  • Drugs, Devices, and Cosmetics: Prescription Drug Wholesalers, Prescription Drug Wholesaler – Broker Only, Out-of-State Prescription Drug Wholesalers, and All Other DDC Licenses;
  • Community Association Managers; and adds
  • Cosmetology: Cosmetologists, Nail Specialists, Facial Specialists and Full Specialists.

Licenses renewed on or before November 22, 2022 shall be considered as timely renewals and will not be assessed any late fees.

10.05.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-04 waives the application fees associated with relocating or reopening businesses, including the addition of branch locations regulated by the Department or by any board, commission or division of the Department, where relocation or reopening arises from damages caused by Hurricane Ian in the listed counties.

10.01.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-03 waives the requirement for certified or registered, general, building, or residential contractors to subcontract roofing work for the repair or installation of any roof type in listed counties.

  • While the emergency order is in effect, registered contractors are not subject to geographic scope limitations or requirements when providing services in listed counties, subject to additional requirements outlined in the emergency order.

09.29.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-02 waives the $200 application fee for the issuance of a temporary license to out-of-state veterinarians, effective with the date corresponding with the effective date of Executive Order 22-218, as amended by Executive Order 22-219, linked above.

09.28.2022 DBPR EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-01 extends the renewal deadline from September 30 or October 1, 2022, to October 31, 2022, for the following licenses:

  • Real Estate: Sales Associates, Broker Sales Associates, Brokers, Corporate Brokers, Partnerships, and Corporations and Branch Offices;
  • Alcoholic Beverages: Retail Vendors, Distributors, Manufacturers, Importers, Brokers, Sales Agents, and Passenger Common Carriers;
  • Drugs, Devices, and Cosmetics: Prescription Drug Wholesalers, Prescription Drug Wholesaler – Broker Only, Out-of-State Prescription Drug Wholesalers, and All Other DDC Licenses;
  • Hotels and Restaurants: Public Lodging Establishments, Vacation Rentals, Timeshare Projects, and Public Food Service Establishments; and
  • Community Association Managers.

Licenses renewed on or before October 31, 2022 shall be considered as timely renewals and will not be assessed any late fees.

DBPR Emergency Order 2022-01 also extends the deadline for the filing of monthly reports and returns by certain alcoholic beverage and tobacco license holders from October 10, 2022, to October 31, 2022. Additionally, the order suspends and tolls through October 31, 2022, all final orders reflecting final agency action and all time requirements and deadlines for filing responses outlined in agency orders.

  • The Florida Board of Auctioneers meeting scheduled for September 27, 2022, in Tallahassee, Florida, is cancelled. The meeting will be rescheduled for a subsequent date.
  • The Florida Accessibility Advisory Council and Product Approval teleconference meeting scheduled for September 29, 2022, is cancelled. The meeting will be rescheduled for a subsequent date.
  • The Florida Barbers’ Board meeting was rescheduled for Oct. 30, 2022, as a teleconference meeting: Barbers’ Board Meeting Information
  • The Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board hybrid meeting scheduled for October 3, 2022, in Orlando, Florida, is cancelled. The meeting will be rescheduled for a subsequent date.

Temporary Veterinarian License Application
The Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine has a 30-Day Temporary Veterinarian License available to out-of-state veterinarians who do not currently hold a Florida Veterinary License but wish to come to Florida to provide relief veterinary services. The application for the 30-Day Temporary Veterinarian License is available on our website.

Florida licensed veterinarians interested in offering volunteer services should contact the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Veterinary Corps for information at 1-800-HELP-FLA (1-800-435-7352).

All public food service establishments must take action after power or water outages and other emergency conditions to offset the effects of loss of electricity, flooding, compromised potable water supplies or damage sufficient to contaminate stored food.
