Lunchtime organ recitals with Gordon Stewart

We are encouraging music lovers to attend one of the final lunchtime concerts of the season at Huddersfield Town Hall.

What’s happening?

Kirklees Borough Organist, Gordon Stewart will be playing the magnificent Father Willis Organ at his hour-long concerts on 24 February, 9 March and 23 March.

On 9 March he will be accompanied by lunchtime favourite Tom Osborne, co-principal trumpet in The Hallé.

On the 23 March, the last concert of the season, Gordon will also be talking to the audience about what is in store for the 2020/21 Season.

Cllr Rob Walker Cabinet Member for Culture said:

“I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t been to one of these friendly, relaxed concerts before to go along and give them a go.  We are very lucky to have a concert season in Kirklees, and Gordon is one of only a small number of borough organists still performing. Many regular concertgoers comment on how wonderfully sociable these daytime concerts are the perfect way to spend an afternoon.’

You can even enjoy bite to eat before the concert as the town hall offers competitively priced lunches from 11.30am in the Old Court Room.”
