Responsible for designing and assisting with the front-end implementation of layouts, graphics and user interfaces for websites, mobile apps, and other digital services in alignment with the federal and agency standards and principles. Manages agency web design efforts and participates in the configuration of Drupal Content Management System (CMS) modules and components to create the technical interactivity, functionality, and usefulness needed for the users of the system and for the agency website and intranet portals. Collaborates with project managers, back-end developers and user experience (UX) specialists, to execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off of visually appealing, intuitive, and accessible user interfaces that help to make complex back-end tools simple to interact with and understand. Provides technical support to system users, troubleshoots display issues, and researches and remediates quality issues for OSC managed websites including compliance with Section 508 Accessibility and W3C standards. Participates in an agile project management environment, using related tools to track and manage multiple projects and tasks; contribute to documentation and technical white papers; and develop user stories and user and process flows.

The GS-12 salary range starts at $86,335.00 per year.
If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service as described below:
IT SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Specialized experience is defined as experience in designing website graphics and templates, and assisting with front-end implementation of user interface functionality within a Drupal CMS framework. Experience must include using web design tools and web coding to create graphics, wireframes, themes, layouts and templates for responsive design sites and mobile apps, as part of a team working in a sprint-based agile project environment. Experience must also include ensuring compliance with branding guides, accessibility requirements, and accurate display across multiple browsers and mobile devices.
