All council-run sports & leisure centres (including pools) closed
In line with Government advice we have decided to close all our sport and leisure centres (including pools) to the public.
These closures will remain in place throughout March and April. We will be monitoring developments and following government guidance with regards to when it may then be appropriate and practical for us to reopen our sites. The health and safety of all our visitors and of the council staff has to be the priority.
As you will appreciate, this decision has been made with a great sense of urgency and at the moment we do not have all the answers and we politely request some time to ensure we get everything together to be able to answer all your questions and for the team to all have the required information.
We will be providing on-going communication and providing FAQ’s to ensure everyone has the required information to answer all your queries.
ClubActive Memberships and Bradford Aquatics Lessons
We have suspended all our ClubActive Memberships and Bradford Aquatics Lessons direct debits which will mean that no further payments will be made during this period of closure. This means that you do not have to do anything in regards to your payments as we have taken care of this and ask that you do not cancel your direct debits as this will stop future access to the service.
Online content and social media
We are working on our online content via social media so please follow or continue to follow us in the coming weeks. For further information and updates please visit the www.bradford.gov.uk/coronavirus website where we will be providing regular updates in line with government guidance.
We would also like to thank all our visitors and staff for their continued support and look forward to welcoming people back in future.
How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus
The advice from the NHS is to protect yourselves and reduce any risks by practicing good hand hygiene. Specifically:
- cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
- put used tissues in the bin straight away
- wash your hands with soap and water often for 20 seconds
- try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
- avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth if your hands are not clean
Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service
Only call 111 if you cannot get help online. Use the NHS 111 online service if:
- you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
- your condition gets worse
- your symptoms do not get better after 7 days
