K-12 Oregon Science Standards Review
The Oregon Science Standards (Next Generation Science Standards) are based on the Framework for K-12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council (NRC). This framework is a powerful document that provides background information and the latest research to improve science teaching and learning. A PDF version of the NRC Framework is available for free download on the National Academies Press website: https://www.nap.edu/catalog/13165/a-framework-for-k-12-science-education-practices-crosscutting-concepts. Here is a short YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6eoRnrwL-A&feature=youtu.be) on how to read the NGSS Standards, if you would find it useful.

These Oregon Science Standards were officially adopted by the Oregon State Board of Education in March 2014. We are now in the initial phase of science standards revision and review. Thank you for taking the time to review the current standards and provide detailed feedback utilizing the survey questions below.

ODE is seeking feedback from individuals with diverse identities and experiences. The personal information requested in this survey is optional and will be used to ensure representation of diverse voices. It will not be used or shared for any other purpose.

Oregon Department of Education - Equity Stance
Education equity is the equitable implementation of policy, practices, procedures, and legislation that translates into resource allocation, education rigor, and opportunities for historically and currently marginalized youth, students, and families including civil rights protected classes.

This means the restructuring and dismantling of systems and institutions that create the dichotomy of beneficiaries and the oppressed and marginalized.
