Funding and Grants Business Admin Apprentice  

£4.30 per hour

To study for a Level 3 Qualification in Business Administration

This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the Community Service team, who will, through appropriate training and development, provide support to the funding and grants service that sits within the Community Support team.

The length of contract is expected to be a minimum of 18 months, to allow for the completion of a relevant qualification.

If you're aged 16 plus and interested in starting a career with the Council, perhaps looking for your first job after leaving school or college. You will combine work with studying, working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable skills and practical experience.  

Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16, not in full-time education and living in England.  £4.30 per hour, paid monthly

If you hold a degree you will be eligible for an apprenticeship at any level, however the apprenticeship must provide you with substantive new skills, you must be able to evidence that the content of the training is materially different from any prior qualification or apprenticeship

As a team member, you will work under the instruction / guidance of the team leader to undertake work.

You will study for a Level 3 Qualification in Business Administration. The apprenticeship content will be tailored to suit the tasks you will be doing in your day to day work and you will receive support and guidance in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in the workplace. 

If you are successful you will be required to undertake a Standard/Enhanced DBS check. 

The main tasks related to this role include:

  • To study for a Business Administration NVQ Level 3 qualification. 
  • To make and receive telephone calls and to take messages in line with Customer Charter guidelines.
  • Receive and respond to correspondence including email, letter, hand-written note and verbal request.
  • Provide administrative, word-processing and excel support; ensuring all work produced (email, letters, reports etc.) is of high quality and complies with house-style format regulations.
  • Monitor, update and input grant application data into appropriate IT systems and databases
  • Provide support for administration of our TWINCl online community lottery
  • Support the process of raising and paying invoices
  • Support the management of shared outlook team inboxes
  • Utilise MS Outlook and MS teams calendars and schedules to book appointments with internal and external persons, sometimes in conjunction with MS Teams and/or meeting room availability.
  • Support promotional awareness raising of new funding streams
