Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida Town Hall

Hurricane Ida made landfall in Southeast Louisiana as a Category 4 Hurricane on August 29th, 2021. As the second most damaging hurricane to hit Louisiana, impacts were felt throughout the area. New Orleans experienced high winds, flooding, power outages, disruptions in City services, and other major effects.

As the City of New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness refines emergency preparedness and operations plans through the lens of Hurricane Ida, we invite you to join us for a Hurricane Ida Virtual Town Hall on Thursday, December 16th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

During this town hall, City of New Orleans officials and partner agencies will share insight on decisions made, as well as challenges and successes of the Ida response and recovery efforts.  Attendees will hear from the following agencies:

  • New Orleans Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness
  • New Orleans Department of Sanitation
  • New Orleans Health Department
  • Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans
  • FEMA Branch 1
  • Entergy New Orleans

Please fill out our survey to share your feedback on Ida response and ask questions for the townhall. While not all questions are guaranteed to be addressed during this hour and a half event, your feedback is important, and will be a crucial contribution to how we move forward in preparing for next year’s hurricane season.
