BLM Solicits Competitive Bids for Las Vegas Area Solar Energy Project
Sealed Bids Accepted for 45 Days; Project Will Contribute to 25 by 25 Clean Energy Goal

LAS VEGAS – As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s goal to permit 25 gigawatts of renewable energy on public lands by 2025 and achieve a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035, the Bureau of Land Management is auctioning the rights to submit a solar energy development proposal on the Dry Lake East Designated Leasing Area, a 1,635-acre parcel of land in Clark County, Nevada.
Officially known as a Notice of Competitive Offer and Notice of Segregation for Solar Energy Development, the bureau will accept sealed bids for 45 days, and then select a preferred applicant to submit a right-of-way application and solar energy plan of development for the parcel. The BLM previously completed a Resource Management Plan Amendment and designated the Dry Lake East Designated Leasing Area in January 2020, after coordinating with local, state, and Federal agencies, and consulting with Tribal governments.
The BLM will accept sealed bids at the Las Vegas Field Office through May 20 at 10 a.m. via U.S. Mail, or hand delivered to:

The notice also announces a two-year segregation of the Dry Lake East Designated Leasing Area from appropriation under the public land laws to facilitate consideration of development of renewable energy resources.
