The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering a program to teach skills needed to hunt, field dress and cook mourning doves to individuals who have little to no dove hunting experience.
The August 4th workshop will feature a mourning dove knowledge and skills building session with instructors that will provide hands-on learning as well as a live- fire wingshooting clinic that will teach the basics.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) - The DNR manages fish and wildlife programs, ensures the health of Iowa’s forests and prairies, and provides recreational opportunities in Iowa’s state parks. Just as importantly, the DNR carries out state and federal laws that protect air, land and water through technical assistance, permitting and compliance programs. The DNR also encourages the enjoyment and stewardship of natural resources among Iowans through outreach and education. Hunter Education Instructors and Conservation Officers will be on hand during the Iowa Hunt Social to answer questins about hunting regulations, hunter education requirements, places to hunt, fish, or shoot, upcoming hunter education classes, and other outdoor recreational pursuits and opportunities.
