Update on Forder Valley overnight works

The current overnight closure on Forder Valley Road and Novorossiysk Road will remain in place until Saturday 2 July, while the final surfacing and white lining works for the new link road are completed.

The closure is between Fort Austin Avenue, the BP petrol station and Miller Way between 7pm and 6am (not including Saturday or Sunday nights).

Northbound traffic is being diverted via the A38 to the Manadon Interchange and then via A386 Tavistock Road northbound, Budshead Way, Crownhill Road and Fort Austin Avenue.

Southbound traffic is diverted via Novorossiysk Road towards The George Junction, A386 Tavistock Road southbound, the A38 and Leigham Roundabout. Local traffic is able to reroute through Leigham and Eggbuckland.

Street lighting, signage, kerbing and final surfacing works for the Forder Valley Interchange (Leigham Roundabout) scheme will also get under way next week.

From Monday 27 June, a short section of the westbound side of Delamere Road (travelling away from Leigham Roundabout) will be closed for one or two nights for kerbing and island works. There will also be a lane closure on the A38 eastbound off-slip.

Traffic will be diverted via the A38 to Manadon, A386 Tavistock Road, Budshead Way, Fort Austin Avenue, Church Hill and Eggbuckland Road.

Once the kerbing works are completed, new street lighting and signage will be installed on Forder Valley Road for the rest of next week, as well as preparing the road for the surfacing works.

The section between Leigham Roundabout and the petrol station will remain open for Wilburt Road residents and petrol station customers but there is now a waiting area on Forder Valley Road and vehicles need to be escorted through.

From Monday 4 July, street lighting and signage works will continue on Forder Valley Road for five nights. Forder Valley Road will be closed between Leigham Roundabout and the petrol station but access to the petrol station will be maintained via Novorossiysk Road, where closures will have then been lifted.

The final surfacing for the interchange will also begin early next month, starting with the Longbridge Road quarter of the roundabout, moving around to the Delamere Road quarter of the roundabout and finishing with Forder Valley Road. Each section is expected to take around five nights and the dates will be communicated nearer the time.

All of these overnight works are starting at 7pm and noisier activities are being prioritised to take place from the start of the shifts, to reduce disruption to nearby residents.

The best way to keep up-to-date is to sign up to receive the latest scheme updates by emailing fvlrcomms@balfourbeatty.com with your name and contact details. We will also be posting updates, reminders and diversion route maps on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Thanks for your patience while these essential works are carried out.
