On Feb. 22, 1905, Adolph Weber was found guilty of murder in the first degree.
On the evening of Nov. 10, 1904, in one of the most heinous crimes in Placer County history, 20-year-old Adolph Weber murdered his parents, 18-year-old sister and eight-year-old severely handicapped brother, then ignited a fire in their Auburn home to hide what he had done. His subsequent trials were covered nationally. Weber was sentenced to death and was executed by hanging at Folsom Prison on Sept. 27, 1906.
Bonus: Listen to our Museums Administrator Ralph Gibson recount his ghostly Adolph Weber encounter and hear about other hauntings at some of our museums in our “Placer Dead” episode from “The Placer Life” podcast. Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts.
