The annual Point in Time Count is a nationwide event in January that provides a snapshot of what homelessness looks like in one night for every community in the country. This year’s count will take place Thursday, Jan. 26.

The ask: The Tarrant County Homeless Coalition needs about 500 volunteers to count and survey people living in unsheltered settings throughout Tarrant and Parker counties. Volunteers’ efforts will help the coalition understand what resources the community needs and identify communitywide strategies to end homelessness.

Event details: On Jan. 26, check-in will begin at 6 p.m. and mandatory training will begin at 7 p.m. Volunteers can sign up as individuals or create a team. Volunteers are assigned a route to canvass, identify and interview people staying outside.

Sign up online.
